Day 59-61
Today we went to the colosseum, and went on a tour of the old roman forum ruins and then the colosseum itself. The tour went for 3 hours, and was very hot, and when the guide asked if we had any questions at the end, Maya said "I'm just so bored!"
Then I saw souvenir coin #15, but we didn't have any cash.
The next day we didn't do much, we saw the Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps, and also went to another famous gelato shop (most famous food places are not that great). Also, souvenir coin #15 for real this time
I also made a bunch of animations, one was Maya and I in a gladiator fight (I won) after we watched the Gladiator movie.
The next morning we walked to the Pantheon, and inside we saw the tomb of Raphael. Then we walked to the Illusions museum with mind blowing illusions.
Then we had a rest before going to the Vatican city. We were nearly there, when dad realised that we had forgotten the passports, so he had to run back. It took us almost an hour to get there, and our tickets were for 5pm, in half an hour....
Then we spent ages trying to find the entrance, When dad finally got back he circled the entire Vatican (this is only 20 acres bigger than Kinross!) trying to find us. He arrived at about 510pm but we were still waiting in the line outside because there were about 1000 people waiting.
We finally got inside and it turns out you don't even need passports to get in there. We saw many things in there including a real Egyptian mummy. It's skin looked so shrivelled up, and it was the same heigh as me, even though it was a full grown man!
The Sistine chapel was not what I expected. It wasn't all that big and the paintings were not that impressive as I expected, but still pretty impressive. We also saw Raphael's most famous painting. Now we just need to see a Donatello....
