Florence

Day 57-58

Today we drove to Florence, and luckily, it was only 45 mins away. We went to a famous bridge (Ponte Vecchio), and a pizza shop for dinner. We also went to a lolly store and the Leonardo da Vinci museum, and I got souvenir coin #13 there.

Then we went to out hotel, which was basically a fancy hotel in a run down building.

The next morning we woke up, had breakfast, and went to the Uffizi gallery. Mum was happy because she wasn't scammed, because she bought tickets at a fake site for more money than the regular ticket, and though the tickets might be fake too. I was happy because I got souvenir coin #14.

We also went to a fountain where there was a statute of a wild board. You had to rub its nose (it was polished by the amount of times people had scratched it), and put a coin in this mouth. You had to let go and it will slide out, and if it goes down the grain you get to make a wish. If it doesn't, you can't try again.

We also sae a replica statue of David by Michaelangelo. There was another statute nearby of a women on her phone, which was meant to be the complete opposite of David.

For lunch we went to a famous sandwich shop, and like most famous food places, it wasn't good. Then we drove to Rome and checked into our hotel.
