Today, we woke up at 4:00am and caught a plane to Baltra, the Galapagos, before quickly driving over to Santa Cruz, the second largest island in the Galapagos (we saw an iguana before entering the airport).

In the Galapagos, animals run the towns. Iguanas quite literally walk down the sidewalk, seals are just climbing on the park benches, crabs cover the steps and tortoises from the grasslands.

We stopped at a restaurant, surrounded by the iconic Galapagos tortoises, before catching a water taxi to our hotel, and there were seals waiting on the taxi benches.

On day 2, we went to the Charles Darwin Research Centre, where we saw many Galapagos tortoises, ages 1-100. The babies were crawling up rocks and jumping off.

After that, we went on a hike. Now, every part of the island has a different microclimate, and the Galapagos is the only place where you can find penguins on the equator.

Some parts are like a grassland, some are rainforests, some are volcanic ash fields, and some are a mix between Arizona and the Australian outback.

Felix's snorkel updates #1

We saw a white tipped reef shark, a sea lion, multiple sea urchins, and school of Parrot fish. Apparently there is a difference between sea lions and seals. Seals are smaller, and sea lions have ears. In the Galpagos they only have sea lions.

The next day, we woke up early and caught a yacht for 2 hours to a tiny volcanic island, The island was made of hardened lava. We alkyd up the mountain, and then went for a snorkel.

Felix's snorkel update # 2

We saw a sleeping shark, that woke up a squadron of 4 eagle rays huddled together, lots of star fish, a parrot fish, multiple little sharks, a sleeping sea turtle, and Maya and Dad even saw a sea lion swimming.

After the snorkel we went on a rough and long trip home.
