Today, we woke up early and drove to the Miami airport. Luckily, departure wasn't as busy as arrival, and we had lounge access.

We flew to Tulum, Mexico, on the Yutucan Peninsula (The Mayans lived here). The Yutucan is endless rainforest no lakes streams, hills or mountains. Its only massive flat plain with trees.

The reason for this was because 11 million years ago, the peninsula was under water. However, after the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs hit the sea where the peninsula is now, and pulled it up to form Mexico.

Now, you might be wondering why anyone would like it here, without any fresh running water, Well that's because all the water is stored underground, in the cenotes. The largest underwater cave system in the world apparently (according to the documentaries I watched).

The documentary I watched also talked about the creatures that were down there, and it made we question mum and dad decision about coming here.

Some of the creatures included: Eels with no eyes, icy pod things that are the ancestors of all insects on earth, and spooky like creatures with tenticles.

Anyway, enough about the Yutucan.

We arrived in Mexico and we had to be very careful because a lot of people scam you, and fake cops with guns ask for all your money,

Anyway, mum and dad made a GREAT decision of hiring a car. We drove to our hotel/resort and checked in and went to bed.
