Today we caught the subway to the Bronx, to go to the bronx zoo. I've always loved zoos and animals.
Some of the animals we saw included leopards, red panda, gorillas, snakes, frogs, sea lions, lemurs, komodo dragons and many more. We saw a frog that was extinct in the wild, and there were only a few left.
We also saw a southern white rhinoceros. I got quite excited, because there are only 2 left, and they are both female. This meant they were about to go extinct.
Well, it turns out that there is a difference between the northern and southern white rhino. There are only two female northern ones, and the ones the zoo had was a southern white rhino.
It was free day at the zoo meaning it was packed. If you couldn't guess already, maya is OBSESSED with red pandas, and I mean OBSESSED, meaning she had to a buy a Fahlo red panda bracelet, her red panda she tracks is called Bhumo, who is 18 months old, and lived with her mum in, you guessed it, Bhutan (although she is in Nepal now.
I wish they tracked axolotls, but they probably couldn't, as they only live in two tiny lakes in mexico city.
After we got back from the zoo, we went to the natural history museum for the third time, but at night (I should probably call it natural history museum visit #3). We made glow in the dark bracelets. The first 250 people who completed a bracelet got a $50 Nordstrom voucher (we were too late for that).
