Another quick something

Another boat. Free diving fisherman in the waters of the Caribbean sea. Cleaning their catch into the waters. We see a loggerhead turtle, sticking its head out of the waters. If only the next 20 minutes were as happy as this...

We plunge down into the murky water. There was sea grass on the bottom. But, the turtle was gone. I looked around for it, and saw something in the shadows. This was not a turtle. We were supposed to just be with turtles.

The creature had fins, and a flat body, a long tail, with sharp stinger perched on the end. If someone who handled crocodiles for a living died because of one of these, there was no way I could (spoiler alert, I'm still here).

Now more rays started appearing from the shadows. Much bigger ones too, like last night. Then I saw them. Nurse sharks. Like before, lashing at lobsters. It was a feeding frenzy. In the midst of it all, surrounded by dozens of rays, sharks, a turtle, and hundreds of fish, were 5 people. Dad, mum, Maya and I, and our relaxed tour guide saying it's fine.

Then he spotted it. News about the feed had spread, and apex predators started to come, Tiger sharks. "Everything is not good now" he said.

We raced back to the boat, The shark followed, hungrily, but we couldn't out swim it, It grabbed my leg, and thrashed at it. Sinking its teeth into my flesh, it pulled me down, never to be seen again.

PS OK the drowning part wasn't true, we managed to out swim a tiger shark.
